does repositioning relieve or change the intensity of the pain? I know it sounds corny, but have you tried an anti-gas tab? I had the type of pain you're decribing and it turned out to be gas pains (I though my lung was collapsing-that's how bad the pain was).

doesnt sound wierd at all! My mom called me in a panic a few months ago thinking she was having an MI, we went to the ER and after an antacid and passing some gas, we went home!

Very good question! I have had chest pain for one year now, and all of the above have been ruled out. Let me know if you make any major discoveries!

Thanks for all the great replies. Trying to reposition the body does not help, actually makes it worse. Been there and done that with anti-gas, even prilosec for possible GERD.
CT scan ruled out gall bladder.
I dont know what else to come up with. This is a stumper I guess.
Sarcoidosis?
I had/have a pain that I describe as "rib pain" for well over a year. I've had virtually every test known to man. It's high up on my rib cage, under my breast. Clinically, it's nothing, but it hurts like mad.
I got an exercise ball and that helps a bit if I'm religious about it, so I guess it's just muscle pain from hauling kids around, moving people in the hospital, sitting at the puter and stress.
It's very annoying.
