Hello! I wanted to create this thread for updates for those applying to the LEAP Certificate program through Case Western the deadline is December 6. I'm nervous, but excited! I did attend one of their information sessions over the Summer and they mentioned that all applications would be reviewed at the same time. There was no early decisions. All applications would be reviewed once the application cycle has closed and that we'll start hearing responses in January.

The schools can be found on the first page of the website.
"Institutions participating in this program include: Case Western Reserve University, Columbia University, Emory University, the Medical University of South Carolina, Newman University, Rosalind Franklin University, Rush University, University of Cincinnati, University of Arizona, and University of Alabama at Birmingham."
Hi all,
those of you that interviewed today how are you feeling about your interview? I am not sure how I feel about mine. Those EI caught me off guard. I didn't know the best questions to ask the panel I feel like a failure 😕. Did anyone feel that it was intense being on with that many directors at one time?

Unless I completely blanked out, I didn't see Cincinnati on there. Did you?

I felt the same way. EI questions caught me so off guard! I remember one of the directors telling me to take my time as I was trying to think about how to answer an EI question! So you are not alone my friend. I pray that we all somehow get in! LOL

Same here, It's intimidating to see all the directors in one room.
I also interviewed today and am feeling unsure about how it went! It's hard to read the vibe when it's just a cut and dry question from each of the 10 program directors and no rapport back and forth. Additionally the clinical questions here weren't traditional ones (more ICU/CCRN) and felt more NCLEX-y so that was also off-putting. But yes I do feel the EI questions were harder/interesting. IDK tbh but best of luck to all of us!

That was so nice that one of the Director said that. I feel like they know how daunting this is for us because they've been through it themselves.
but at the same time multiple directors in one room I feel like there was six directors in one of those rooms. one of those schools was in both rooms. they heard all of my answers rather bad or good.
It's just kind of scary you can answer one question correct for one school right and then the next school answer that question wrong. Then all of the directors can hear your wrong answer and they can make a deciding factor off that. 😭😭
NurseJ32 said:definitely agreed. I had my interview Tuesday and I cannot stop trying to remember what I said to some of the questions.
interviews were Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday? I would've picked Tuesday. I didn't see any dates for Tuesday. I only saw dates for Monday and Wednesday. I interviewed right after work 😶

Me too I studied heavy clinical I was hoping to get deep clinical questions. The questions were in NCLEX base stuff that I honestly forgot and once I looked up the information I feel so stupid not knowing those simple questions I was looking for deep clinical. I used my barrons book to study for this interview. And it helped me none
If I'll have to apply again next year, I still wouldn't know how to study for this interview LOL . Ahh this process is the worst. Best of luck to us all! The waiting begins

I had my interview this morning. I don't recall seeing Cincinnati either, but I did notice Augusta is back in the program. The EI questions were definitely not ones I had thought about or practiced. I was nervous during the 1st breakout session, but I took a deep breath and did my best. They did say we'd find out in mid-February, so I'm happy we don't have to wait until March!
Good luck to everyone!

Don't feel like a failure, that interview was pretty unique and rough. I also don't know how to feel about mine but did my best. The EI questions were definitely worded in a unique way and it was super intimidating to be interviewed by all the program directors, so nerves were at an all time high.
Some of the clinical questions for sure caught me off guard considering how intense I studied LOL.

I agree that the process does get easier the more interviews you do, and practicing mock interviews can also help you become comfortable with different interviewing styles. All the directors and faculty members were very nice and down to earth! So if you're worried about that, it should be the least of your concerns. just go in there and be yourself. Good luck to everyone interviewing on Wednesday! I'm sure all of you will do well, and I have confidence in all of us who have interviewed today.
Kasey, mentioned in the meeting room that we would find out by February 14 that they want to send out acceptance letters before the ACDE meeting. Praying for us all to get acceptances this year rather it's from LEAP or any institution.
