Carrington College, Sacramento - LVN to RN 2019

Updated:   Published

Hello. I am in the process of applying to Carrington's LVN to RN advanced placement program. It's been a long process of getting my prereqs and GE's together, but I'm hoping I get accepted to the next class (August) ! Are there any current students or graduates from the lvn to RN program who can give me tips on how to ensure I get accepted?

I would also like to know if-- in the first month of the program, is it just once or twice a week for class and then gradually M-F? I'm trying to figure out scheduling for my job.

So I know no ones posted in a while, but am hoping to get some info. I want to apply for Carrington and was wondering how likely it is that I get in.

I have just over a 3.7 GPA and got a 75 on the TEAS. I also have 3 years LVN experience.

You should get in touch with a rep if you've completed all the requirements. They will tell you if you're likely to get in. I believe 3.8 GPA will give you higher chances in getting accepted, but give it a shot because your TEAS score is impressive and may compensate for your GPA (which is still good)

Hello ladies, I’m following this thread as I too am stuck on where I want to apply, PUC, Carrington, and Unitek. Unitek is the farthest I believe with toll and PUC is maybe 30 minutes away from Vallejo. I’m getting ready to do my prerequisites so please continue to update on class hours, days, student numbers, and clinical info as It is very helpful for all of us to follow. Congratulations ladies ?

I'm from the same area. PUC has an incredible program. Carrington is an OK program but it best fit my lifestyle as an on call LVN. The commute is not too bad either. No toll, opposite traffic, easy drive.

Specializes in LVN.

Hello, Can I please ask if you have any contact number for a good advisor at Carrington College Sacramento? I am trying to apply for LVN-RN but it’s very hard to reach Toni Anderson and she doesn’t reply to my email or call. If someone knows a good advisor from Carrington please kindly help me out ??? Thank you so much

@EmilyFB Honestly, I didn't have good experiences from any other rep. Also, given the pandemic and dealing with different changes, I'm sure they're busy. If you're not satisfied with your current rep, you can call the school directly and request for another rep or go to the school directly (I'm not sure if it's open though, due to social distancing). Try Kimberly? Good luck!

I got into the program! Thanks for your words of advice. I really appreciate it!

Hi Jake! I was reading your thread. I'm also applying for Carrington LVN-RN

May I ask what score did you get on TEAS?
I have a 3.9 GPA and got a 70.7% on TEAS. I'm just wondering if I have a chance getting into the program since there's so many applicants.

Specializes in Critical care, Med Surg/Tele, Psych, SNF.

Hey! I forgot about this thread so long ago lmao

yeah so, I got a 82.7 on the TEAS with a 3.9. Your GPA looks great, and I would throw in my application soon if I were you. In the case you don't get accepted, I would retake the TEAS and try to hit above 75%

good luck

Did they say why? You have a great GPA. Did you retake the TEAS again?

Not really. They just said they picked the right amount of students already and just quickly asked me if I'm interested reapplying. I did retake my TEAS cause I had time. So hopefully this time is better.

Any luck for the October cohort and what was your new TEAS score.
