SDSU APRN
Anyone else apply to the MSN APRN program? Hey y'all! Just asking if anyone has also applied for fall '24 for the MSN APRN program? Let's connect! Hopefully we get in, it's the last year for the MSN program before they switch to a DNP program. I sent my app in early October but all of my recommendations had submitted by early Dec, (deadline was the 15th). Anyone heard anything back yet? The program person told me they're pretty quick, I've been checking emails and mysdsu like crazy. Stats: 34 months RN (ICU, med Surg) 2 years LVN (SNF/psych) 4.0 ADN GPA, 3.86 BSN GPA. Last 60 credits came out to 3.76 I think. 3.6 CGPA Good LORs from previous prof, previous MD I worked with, and previous supervisor. California resident.

SDSU (San Diego State U) MSN program
Hey y'all! I'm JJ and I'm about to complete my application for SDSU for their AGPCNP/CNS program. I wanted to know if anyone else is also applying or has applied in the past and how the application process was going? I've been accepted to USC, but I really wanted to apply for SDSU due to the in-state tuition (I also love SD).

USC FNP
Hey everyone! does anyone has insight on the USC FNP? I applied and I like the program so far. They do find clinical as far as what the rep told me. I also like the idea of synchronous online classes. Has anyone been thru the program?

San Francisco State University FNP 2023
Hi! Congratulations on the acceptance! I'm wanting to apply for fall 2024, and do you have any tips for admission? I've got around 2 years critical care experience (have my CCRN) + other certs. GPA is at 3.86 for my BSN/4.0 for my ADN, but my overall GPA for my undergrad is probably at 3.5-3.6.

What's your favorite nursing task?
I work in skilled nursing, and I got to insert a Foley catheter for a really hard patient because she was contracted, legs wouldn't bend, she had neurological issues, etc. All of the nurses were so proud, which made me proud. Not really a skill, but... I also work as an adolescent psych nurse, and I really love it when I get to talk with the kids. There was one that left a note saying that I was her favorite nurse. I felt good. I felt like I made some sort of difference. I'm happy I picked this field.

Carrington College, Sacramento - LVN to RN 2019
Hi! I decided not to pursue Unitek mainly because of 2 reasons. 1. Cost of attendance. I cannot afford the tuition lol! 37k is better than 100k. 2. Length of program. I really appreciate Carrington for continuing the 8 month program. I am much more happier to do a RN BSN online, which can cost less time/money. I am 100% still going to apply for Unitek, but if I had to choose between the two, I would go with Carrington. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you get into Unitek! You're gonna do great!

Carrington College, Sacramento - LVN to RN 2019
Hey, I'm also applying to Carrington college, and I also have a 3.9 GPA from Unitek. I'm trying to get into the December cohort. I'm just studying to take the TEAS, which is hopefully high enough. For the TEAS, does Carrington only look at applicants who have above 70? I know the minimum is 62%, but the RN enrollment person told me as long as I am in the 70s, it's competitive. Also, how is the program so far?

Thank you for your help! I called the California board of Nursing. Not Tennessee.

Thank you so much for your help. For clarification, you are correct. I want to go to school in Tennessee, but come back to work in California.

Tennessee to California nursing requirements
Hi everyone. This is my first post on allnurses, so please excuse any points of ignorance. I just passed the NCLEX PN (thank God), and I want to go start my process for the RN right away. I decided that I want to go out of state for my RN (Tennessee), and I tried calling the BRN, and they were no help. Can someone please tell me some information about endorsement? I saw on the BRN website that they might require additional courses to meet California requirements, or that they may have to retake the NCLEX-RN examination again. I'm just really confused by the information. Thank you in advance for your help.
