There are numerous sources of information other than your textbook.
You can go to the library and do an internet search on developmental and care needs of young infants.
You can go the the library or bookstore and read reputable "popular press" parenting books or magazines such as Parents, What to Expect the First Year, etc.
You can interview new and experienced parents, daycare workers or nurses.
Good luck!
