I am looking to change careers. My goal is to become a LPN. I have looked at becoming a medical assistant (9 months through Ross medical) or a cna through the community college (in Lansing MI) then I would continue my education for the lpn while working
I would like advice on which program (MA or CNA) would be the best way toward lpn

For me, I am doing the C.N.A. route. The reason I chose this route is so that I will be gaining patient care experience while in school. Also, while employed at a facility as a CNA and once I finish nursing school, I will be promoted to LPN and I will not have to seek new employment as a new nurse. There were two other deciding factors for me. One, cost. It is much less expensive getting your CNA than MA. Second, my school will waive our Nursing Fundamentals course if we have a CNA certification. I hope this helps.
