That's funny because this is what I am going through right now! I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra that's already paid off but I am considering buying a used 2006 Acura TL from a friend of mine (podiatrist who likes to buy new cars like every two years!). I'm 23, have one year left of my BSN and need to work ICU, take GREs and also graduate statistics. So it's going to be at least 1-2 years before I start applying for CRNA school. I plan to make a huge down payment and try to pay off the car as soon as possible while I'm working so I have a nice, decent car to traveling back and forth from Indiana to Chicago with. I was able to pay off $8000 car loan in 3.5 years doing the minimum payments (~$220) while in nursing school, so I think you could pull it off sooner making bigger payments. Hope that helps!

okay, kind of a random question. Just graduating with my RN at 22 and am looking at getting a new job, continuing with my education to grad with BSN in 2 years and apply to anesthesia school following. I want to take out about an 8000 car loan. What if I don't have it paid off by the time I start CRNA school. Will I be able to take out additional money to cover loan payment? Thanks.
