Canadian Public Health Nurse searching for PH jobs in the USA...possible?

Hello,

I am a Public Health Nurse from Canada and I have been searching on agency websites for jobs in the USA, however most jobs are in the hospital/acute care setting. I am curious if any fellow Canadian nurses have had success seeking out a Public Health job (or other community nursing jobs) in the States?

Also, is it mandatory to always go through agencies when applying for USA nursing jobs? I tried looking for these answers, but didn't much information!

It is not mandatory to go through agencies, as long as you have met state requirements, passed NCLEX and have visa screen certificate you can go through the process yourself and can contact employers yourself
