Canadian nurse Failed NCLEX, please help

I took the ncsbn nclex rn review course http://learningext.com/students/p/nclex-rn.aspx ,I purchased the 3 weeks course. I am a uk nurse and passed first time using this and the Kaplan nclex review book. I just used to do questions every night for 3 weeks then took the exam. Hope this helps.

I know it must be difficult however after you've allowed yourself to feel the disappointment for a short while, pick yourself back up and regroup and refocus and give this exam another shot. You are not stupid! It is a tough exam but you can do it. I just took mine a couple of weeks ago and I posted tips on what helped me on the thread "April 2013 NCLEX test takers". All the best!

As a fellow Canadian nurse who took the NCLEX last year, I can tell you that a HUGE thing is to forget the format of the Canadian nursing test.

I bought 2 different exam prep books, kaplan and another, not a big name one. I read those to familiarize myself with the different kinds of questions. Took the sample tests. The ones I didn't do so well on, I went back and figured out why (didn't understand the question or lack of knowledge or ?). Then I worked on whatever the problem was. I also spent a decent amount of time online taking sample questions there too.

I had a slight advantage though in that much of my experience is med-surg. It is more general, I am more familiar with values and all. Did you spend time reviewing adult patho?

Thank you for replying to my post. I studied only the questions before I wrote the exam. But looknig back its my lack of experience in adults that was my weakness. I have enrolled in the Hurst course and am reviewing all the adultpatho. I really did study hard the first time but hopefully a shift in focus will help. Thanks again for your advice

Thank you so much for replying to my post. I let myself cry for a few days and then I registered for Hurst review. Hopefully I can regain my confidence and pass the second time :) Really appreciate your post

I graduated in November 2012 and have written the Canadian CRNE twice without success, I feel awful and Iam left with ONLY one chance to make it and the more I have done the exam, the more I feel less confident. I can't pretend that I am not thinking of what "if" I dont make it on the 3rd one. Meanwhile, my plan B is NCLEX but my question is how do I choose a state which will consider my Canadian education? Any help on how to begin the process, because Iam ready to consider US exam and not to put my 4 Yr BScN program to waste.

Hi, my question is; were you licensed in Canada before you did the Nclex or you used your degree papers to qualify for the exam? In my case, I am not licenced in Canada as an RN and I want to be licensed in US and forget the Canadian CRNE exam. Any help on hoe I go about this?

I was licensed in Quebec before I registered for the NCLEX. I had 4 years experience in med-surg and mother-baby by then.
