Hi, I passed the phil nursing board exam dec of 2006 and I am interested to work in Canada. However, I do not have any hospital experience. I learned from a friend that Canada is accepting nurses who are CURRENTLY employed. Is there a chance that one can enter Canada even without hospital experience? Please help me find ways or give me some advice on what options to take in order to enter Canada even if not as a Nurse. Thanks so much.

All depends on the employer and whether they are willing to accept you with no experience. You will need to meet the province college requirements for IEN and at some stage sit and pass CRNE. To be honest you will do better to gain employment experience. Really you need to be a skilled worker to enter Canada. I would look at the CIC website and see what ways are open to you http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/index.asp

Our unit was hiring people with little or no experience, but no more. We've seen too many disastrous situations come up with inexperienced nurses, no matter where they're from. Most employment postings indicate that the employer requires experience, minimum of 1-2 years RECENT experience required and specific specialty experience preferred. In the time it will take to get all the documentation and logistics solved, you could accrue some experience. If, of course, you were able to find paid nursing employment in the Philippines, which I understand is very difficult if not impossible.
thanks so much:-)
