Hello all

Just wondering if theres more stories like mine. Really needing support right now.

Ive posted here a while ago..stating I was unsuccessful on the crne by 1%. Now the time has come that NCLEX format is available to people like me.

Ive contacted the CNO to see what steps I need to take to become registered.

Im told I need to pay an assessment fee, write the nclex and do 400 clinical hours..and possibly get additional education?

Is there anyone else who has been through this? Ive really put off the idea of nursing for the past few years after the 3 fails. I was stubborn and thought its not meant to be. Although, im going to give it another chance. If anyone could share similar stories , or give helpful advice, it'd be greatly appreciated!

It's going to be a real uphill climb for you, I'm afraid. Letting so much time pass between graduation and embarking on a career will be very hard. So much change occurs in nursing over time that there will be a lot of refreshing of your nursing information needed. Your skills will also be rusty. So I think you need to be very committed, do exactly what CNO tells you you need to do, don't look for shortcuts (because that could backfire in a bad way) and just keep going. Studying for the NCLEX will have to be a priority if you're going to succeed.

Yes Im aware of that. I know itll be studying again.

I found a program thats geared towards nurses like me. So theres definetly more out there like me. I need to not feel ashamed of whats happened because failure is just a stepping stone.

I just need to see what exactly the cno requires as a refresher course so I can see what I can do while I work as well. I hear they are accommodating so I sure hope this is true.
