I don't remember anyone saying they could use one. However, the NET isn't extremely hard. Just practice your basic math, algebra, ratios, etc.
If you don't know your multiplication facts, you may have a problem.
I suggest getting the NET Study Guide. I bought mine on Ebay, but EriWorld.com is the one that sells it.
I think the reading portion is harder than the math. It's not "What's wrong with this sentence?"-type questions.....
Good luck! :)

I recently purchased Kaplan's Nursing School Entrance exam study guide and Amazon tossed in CliffsTestPrep as a bonus packaged. I took the pre-test which covers reading comprehension, math, science, etc and did pretty well on it. Kaplan comes with a pre-test (So you know upfront what you need to improve on) and two practice exams.
I asked about the calulator because I have a Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Graphing Calculator and was thinking, whoa if I could use this on the test (LOL)......but that's wishful thinking. )

We were NOT allowed to use a calculator when I took it.
The NET doesn't have science, I know the HESI does. Are you having to take more than the NET?

No. Only the NET. Kaplan seems to cover everything, but I'm only studying the required subjects that is covered on the NET....

Hi, I am new to the nursing field of study. I currently have a bachelors in business but due to the "unfortunate" economy state I no longer have my position. I had difficulty finding a new job in the bad economy, however this opened my eyes to a different career that I realized I had really been interested in since I was young, just never pursued...so here I am pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse.
Anyway, I am in the process of applying to colleges and determening what is required for each school. BCC is currently on the top of my list. Without knowing what entrance exam I had to take yet (due to the fact that I am still in the beginning stages of finding and applying to colleges) I purchased a book to study and refresh my memory on all of the High School Math, Science, English etc that I don't really remember from then. I found it at Barns and Noble ; "McGraw Hill's Nursing School Entrance Exams". It covers NLN PAX-RN, NET, TEAS, PSB-RN, C-NET-RN. It has 8 practice exams. Goes through every step of the way to solve problems etc. For those of you who may not remember some manual calculations for Math, like myself. Even goes through Prime Numbers, Exponents etc., the things that in business, I didn't have to use. Definately a GREAT tool that I would recommend to anyone!
