Can my wife legally work while I'm on temporary work permit?

greetings to all! :)

I am a registered nurse from the Philippines. I plan to register with BC this year and I've got some questions:

1. How much does a "graduate nurse" earn while waiting and working for registration?

2. While I have my temporary registration and temp. work permit, can my wife (an accountant) work legally in BC?

your response will be greatly appreciated :)

as far as i know you can apply for open work permit for your wife to be able to work in canada. the canadian immigration site are quite useful for any questions you might have with regards to working in Canada.

to roll69, I am tina, i have applied for work permit along with my husband. I was reading on canadian immigration website, it says for your spouse to apply for work permit they have to be in canada. I was wondering if you are internationally RN nurse and went through the same procedure that we are going through? Did your spouse get work permit at sametime as you did?

hi, i am planning to apply for registration too in BC. I just want to ask if you happen to have an employer or just process this on your own. I am from Phils to and I want also work in Canada but my prob is my work experience isn't enough? thanks and hope you can help me.

Your Salary in BC depends on your work experience. they have this salary step ladder you start at $26 or $29/hour and it depends on your employer on what salary they will place you in.. if your planning to work in BC, 2 years work experience is probably enough and registration is quite a lengthy process it may take 6 months or more. so if you want to work in canada you may want to start early in applying for registration

2 years? yikes!..have no experience yet. I emailed CRNBC last week inquiring about the xperience part and they said it was ok if I had none here in my country..What they required though was the canaddian experience of not less than 8 weeks (for the reference part)

One of the requirements of CRNBC to be able to register in Canada is a supervised practice. so you could be given a temporary registration permit to work, then you have to pass the CRNE exam. the other way that you can have a supervise practice is to have an employer who are willing to sign you off. If you have no experience it will be difficult for you to find an employer, because mostly they require you to have at least 1-2 years experience..you could go to CRNBC website for more info.. www.crnbc.ca.com ( i think??).. hope it helps..

It depends on the job SD - nurses spouses are able to get a permit due to the principle applicant's job. Somebody loves us:D

I know because my DH is able to get his permit because I'm going as a nurse.
