No you're not allowed to bring any food or water with you.
I even was asked to remove my watch and small silver bracelet. No even jackets to wear. They say the room is warm enough so no jackets are allowed.
Very strict policy. Also i can tell you that you can take a break any time you want, not necessary after 2 hours and then you can drink if you need.
Hope it helps.
Good luck to you!

NO. nothing allow only ID, (writing board, tissues, hearing pub)--pearson vue test center provide bringing with you. I brought a thin jacket and they were not allow to wear it beacuse It had a hood. Make sure your signature is match you driving license/ID. The person ahead of me signed her name ten times before she could enter the computer room. I hope it will helpful.
WOw! No watch? They are strict.
Thanks for the warning!

I think it depends on the facitlity that you go to, I was able to wear my watch and bracelet and I had a hooded sweatshirt they let me wear. But they did look at them before I went in to make sure there was nothing that would be considred cheating on them or in the pockets. I did however have to take my watch off and not wear a jacket when I took LPN boards, and this was in another state from RN boards. But believe me they will tell you what they will allow and not allow. Being that there are computers that you are taking the test on I doubt if any place will allow drinks int he room.
Good luck!

I had a runny nose when I took the boards and asked if I could bring some tissues in with me- they ended up asking me to throw away my tissues and that I could bring in one clean tissue from a box on one of the employee's desks, lol. But I understood. Hey, I could have written notes on my runny dirty tissue!
The funny thing is that anyway you're being recorded on videotape and they are watching your every move over there. How could you cheat even if you wanted to?
I think they exaggerate a bit with their strict policy

I would suggest bringing food with you though, they give you a locker for all your stuff. If your like me, it will be hard to eat that morning b/c you will be nervous. I took a break at 50 questions, took a deep breath and ate some snacks. No telling how long you will be there. If you get all 265, you will need to take a break to eat and drink. Remember to feed your brain!

Hello ManyRN2B!
I brought a water bottle/snack and put them in a locker....along with my watch and everything else in my pockets. I had kept my chapstick; although, they made me return it to my locker prior to entering the testing room. Oops! Being fingerprinted, providing your signature, having your photograph taken, pretty much being hung upside down and shaken til everything falls from your pockets :uhoh21: , and then being fingerprinted AGAIN before entering the testing room can be pretty intimidating.....besides the fact that you are already nerved up to sit for the boards....that it is definitely good to know what to expect before the actual test date.
Actually the staff was quite friendly and tried to lighten the mood knowing the anxiety level of the testers.....!
Definitely take a break if you need it....sometimes it helps to clear your head for a couple min.
I wish you the best of luck....I know you'll do great :)

I recommend that you eat breakfast before you go. Your brain needs the food, if nothing else. But do not carbohydrate load, that will only make you more tired.

MrsMinor you are hilarious! I will miss you once you start working. Thanks to you and MandiBSN for the suggestion to bring food/drink. I didn't even think of that. I will show up naked with food in hand!!! :rotfl: My dh and I drove to the testing center today. Wow! I think I will take the subway there. But there is a Caribou Coffee on the corner! Yeah!!! I'm not a coffee drinker but I wanted to get there early and now I have somewhere to "chill" until my exam starts.
Off to packing my lunch box and put out my clothes(oh yeah, no clothes)LOL
thanks you guys!!! wish me luck! I will need it!
One more thing(reason 4 the edit) My friend said she couldn't go to her locker during the exam for break. So how will I be able to eat?
