I read something on another thread about someone still having some courses to CLEP out of after they finished their CPNE.
Just wonder if it is possible to go ahead and schedule the CPNE as soon as you enroll?
I'm real excited about this. Got my nursing foundations textbook and have been studying a couple of hours every day.

you need to have all of your nursing concepts classes done and be within 6 (or is it 9) units of finishing your general ed to sign up for cpne. call ec or look in your ec nursing guide...someone here probably knows the number of units for sure!!!

LPN- it was me that you were referring to. Yes, you can take the CPNE if you are finished with all of the NCs and within 9 gen ed credit hrs of finishing the program. I opted to CLEP my last gen eds. It was much cheaper, and I was ready to go ahead and get done. If you do plan on CLEPping any gen eds, I advise you to clear them with an academic advisor first to make sure you get the appropriate credits for them.
Oops- forgot to add that you can't schedule the CPNE as soon as you enroll.
Also, the Fundamentals book has a companion website listed on the back cover- check it out.
I suggest getting the Wong Peds book after you do NC1. You'll need it as most of the NC courses have Peds and Adult together, which I liked. It helps to bring home the differences in care related to both.
PM me your email addy if you need study materials for NC1. I have notes and a practice test that will help.

I also suggest (in addition to the Wong as lgflamini said) get the Wilkinson book for NC1. It helped me tremendously with understanding the whole process of ADPIE. I highly recommend it!
Good luck to you and happy studying!
