Does anyone know what povidone-iodone is used for and side effects...contraindications are...I cant find it any where....thanks

it is a very prevalent and widespread used topical antiseptic more commonly known by its brand name of betadine. if you have a pharmacology textbook it will be found in the chapter about antiseptics and disinfectants. this is some of the information in the book i have:
i am looking at a bottle of betadine that i was sent home from the hospital with to do my dressing changes with. the label states:
you can also find it in any drugstore in the first aid aisle.
