A patient has been receiving 1 L Hartmann's solution at a 12/24 rate via Alaris pump. The bag was commenced at 0800 hrs. After 2 hours the registrar reviews the patient. How many milliliters has the patient received.
I'd be grateful for the answer and the steps you took to get the result.

What is a 12/24 rate? I've never heard of this.

Divide 1000mL by 12 which is 83.3333 repeating, then multiply that by two to get 166.6667 infused.
@Pepper, I am assuming that the 12/24 means that 12 hours out of 24 hours. So it would just be a simple flow rate calculation.

Simply providing the answer does not help students- it only teaches them to come here for answers. Instead, we need to be telling people who ask these questions how to reach the answer themselves without providing the work. You didn't help this person in the long run.
