Hi Everyone,
I have looked around, including the Ohio Scope of Practice, but I haven't seen anywhere that mentions whether or not an LPN can note orders. The nurses I am working with seem to be torn on two sides of this and some may be sticking to some old practices. So can LPN's note orders in Ohio?
Thanks!

Do you mean processing new MD orders, what we used to call "taking off" new orders? I think this is what you mean but just want to be sure.......and like the previous poster, I have always processed new MD orders. Lots and lots. Probably into the thousands by now!
But I do think this is the kind of thing that may vary by facility, though it's hard to imagine why an LPN wouldn't be able to....hope this helps.
Good luck, hapyman.

In the nursing homes I've worked in, the orders would never get noted if it weren't for the LPN's! It's one of the main functions of my job.
