Last night I got my head bitten off by an on-call MD who has a reputation for being rude.
I got to thinking today. Would it be possible for me to report him at least to the DON of the facility?
I don't want to be shot down and be told "Oh just let it go". Because other nurses are telling me stories about him having the same attitude(of course I will just mention my story).
Should I add an addendum in my nurses notes what he said during my call?

And I didn't see him choke her but her neck was really red when she came out of there so we all totally believed her
This should never ever be allowed. He will most certainly do this again.

Just say it's our protocol that we call you in this situation. They are being paid to be on call, and they're aware that they will get phone calls about patients. If they don't want to be called about patients, they need to take a different job.

Do not put anything in your Nursing Notes about how the physician acted. No personal issues should be included in patient notes. This physician probably has many complaints already. I would make a contact report about his behavior and give it to management. Again don't put any personal feelings in the report, "just the facts". You can tell your manager how you felt or feel about it but don't write it down. Always remember on top of everything else we do as nurses we have to be pseudo lawyers too. I would avoid him as much as possible. Be polite and move out of his way. He has issues.
