and actually not be? The advisors and even a few students of a nameless school have all said that they are nationally accredited but I looked on the NLNAC and CCNE websites and the school is not listed anywhere. Is there another way to find out or am I just stuck with the fact that they are not accredited because they're not listed?:grn:

The NLN and the CCNE are the two primary, most prestigious national accrediting bodies for nursing programs. However, they are not the only ones in existence.
My LVN program lost its NLN accreditation halfway through my time at the school, but they were also accredited by another national body called NAPNES.
You may wish to contact the schools in question, and find out precisely which national agencies have bestowed accreditation upon them. The school might not be lying after all.

NLNAC
Go to that link and you will see if your school is Nationally certified. If they are not on the list they are not recognized and not nationally certified.

That is a great question. I recently got accepted into a NS and had to decline my acceptance because of that reason and start reapplying everywhere all over again! MAKE SURE THEY ARE REGIONALLY ACCREDITED, NLN OR CCNE. A good website is called collegesource.org-you can look up any school and see what their stats are. And do not believe the school perosnnel. I had the director of nursing lie to my face at that school I mentioned earlier! Everest Univeristy- formerly known as FMU.
