I am working on my LPN, have only a few months left.
Question #1Can I send my unofficial transcripts to them and have them tell me which classes I will need. ??
Question #2 does this still cost the $75??
I realize I will need the nursing 1-7 classes. I am figuring I need sociology and micro, and maybe an english.
Question #3 Does that mean I can enroll for $75 and take sociology, english, and micro while waiting to get my LPN, then apply, get accepted and then pay that $895 yearly fee? Those classes are considered general classes right?
Question #4 Can anyone pay the $75 enrollment fee and start on their general classes?
You would think excelsior's website would be easier to understand. It seems complicated. I am so afraid that I will enroll and then not know how to work the system. Is that stupid or is it actually easier than it seems. Used to a brick and mortor school here.
Please help !

$75 is the application fee. $895 is the enrollment fee, which is what you pay only after you're accepted to the School of Nursing, which would require you to be an LPN already.
They still need official transcripts for evaluation, but the evaluation you'd receive would be unofficial because you're not enrolled. You receive an official eval once you do enroll. But I'm not sure they'll evaluate them if you're not yet an LPN.
Why not give them a call and ask? But my advice -- focus on getting your LPN first.

If you choose to do this program, you guys really need to get real world clinical experience while you are studying the Nursing Concepts classes. I cannot emphasize enough how DIFFERENT real nursing is from LPN school clinicals. You will need the cool headedness you acquire in real life to complete the CPNE. It's no walk in the park. Also, take a workshop while you're waiting for your CPNE date.
I'm a 2005 LPN school grad, about to take the CPNE. If I had gone straight into a community college transition program, I would have had my RN already, and not had to stress through the CPNE. I chose to do a distance program because I despised the drama of LPN school, and thought I'd avoid it with a distance program. What I didn't know, was that I'd have to wait 9 months for a CPNE date, then probably another two months after that to sit for boards. (I CPNE @ Gwinnett 3/28-30.) The distance program is MUCH MORE DIFFICULT than traditional school. If I had it to do again, I'd grit my teeth and go to a traditional program. That said, this is the program I chose, and now I'm a clinical away from being DONE. This program is hard, but I'm probably a better nurse for having done it.
