You can see why you need to contact your state Board just by reading the different responses in this thread. Also, do not be quick to follow the instructions from someone in your facility if they contradict what is allowed in your state. People in facilities often step out of their scope of practice, all well and good on a day to day basis to keep the paycheck coming in. But then when it is time for the lawsuit, what are you going to say for yourself when you are defending your actions on the witness stand? Especially when the employer comes forth with a written policy that does not back you up and they emphatically deny ever telling you to do anything out of your scope of practice? Reason to find out what the rules are and reason to give it some thought.
