I recently sent in my application to the vocational nursing board it took a total of 8 to 10 weeks for them to get back to me stating that they are unable to make me eligible for my license because I have to fill out a detailed explanation for a misdemeanor conviction. I had 5 years ago. About how long is this going to delay the process? another 8 to 12 weeks? And also will I still be able to take my NCLEX exam meanwhile.? Or do I have to wait?

The Board will provide these answers to you when you inquire.

The Board also decides if/ when you are eligible for the exam. However long it takes them is not under your control. Get your documentation to them ASAP
Ok, in the letter it did not state anything about not being able to take Exam ,it stated that my eligibility for licensure cannot be determined till all required doc's are submitted. Soooo, that means no
exam/no Att right?

It means exactly what it says: until you submit all necessary documentation, they can't determine if they'll let you test. And you won't get your ATT until they decide if you are eligible to test. So right now, they are waiting on YOU before things can go further.
As other posters have said, get that documentation back to them ASAP. The BON screening process for applicants with a criminal history is long enough as it is--dawdling on submitting the paperwork isn't going to speed things up.
Best of luck.
