I'm considering going to nursing school (an lpn program) but I have a now closed case of child neglect. I did not lose custody of my children or anything like that. My home was a mess while I was recovering from surgery (which is when they stopped in), and they automatically found the neglect substantiated because of it. (The reason a 51A was even filed was so ridiculous, my children's pediatrician was incredulous about it) There was no court involved, and the wording in Massachusetts for being barred from licensure is "criminal neglect." Does that mean it has to be a court conviction? I'm not getting my hopes up about anything, but I am calling the board on Monday. I just can't find any specific information...Because there was no arrest or court involved, I was told it wouldn't show up on a typically CORI check, that a request for the DCF registry has to be submitted...

That's a question for the BON in Masschussetts. You should be able to find their website and phone number online.
