I'm a high school senior and my ideal route would be going to a 4 year uni right away... but I'm not completely sure if I'd get accepted. So I'm thinking worst case scenario, I go to a community college (CC). No matter where I go, my ultimate goal is to get a BSN (not an ADN).
** Can I go to a CC for 2-3 years for my general education/prereqs, then transfer to a university and complete their BSN program? Is this possible?
I don't want to go to CC for 3 years, wait YEARS to get accepted into the college's ADN program (community colleges are SO congested, esp in California), then get my ADN, be on the wait list again, then finally get accepted and complete a RN to BSN program. This route will take at least a year longer.
** So can anyone tell me if this is possible? Yes/No? Thanks!
If you're not sure on what courses to take that satisfies 4 yr university of your choice, use assist.org. It tells you what courses are equivalent to 4 yr schools. Be careful though, UC and CSU differ in difficulty of prereqs. For example, UCLA requires at least Calculus 1 for nursing transfers while CSU's only require Statistics.
Hi,
I am an international student and will like to take classes for nursing prereq in a college in Texas. However, with so many colleges in Texas, I will appreciate any advice/suggestions on colleges to apply to even if the college is located in a small city. My aim is to enroll in a college where instructors in the prereq are knowlegeable to impact the basics. I also did some research and also looking at these colleges. Your candid advice plsss!!

Akulahawk: How long did it take you to complete your BSN after you transferred? I am considering transferring out of the private college I am into a community college. I would like to finish my pre-reqs and gen ed at the cc in 2 years or most likely less and then go into the BSN program at Sonoma state. However I have been trying to figure out how long it will take me to recieve my BSN after transferring from the cc. My JC counselor said it would take me another 4 years after transferring. But from what I have read from different posts that is wrong.
