Can I get an RN job in CA if I have a TX license?

Published

Hi fellow nurses!

Good day! I was just wondering if I can get an RN job here in CA even if I don't have an RN license in the said state? I do have a TX RN license and I am planning on endorsing it in California since I live here but I am just curious if I can get a job as an RN in CA before applying for endorsement?

If not, can you please give me suggestions on what healthcare jobs I can get while waiting for my application for endorsement?

Thank you in advance for the replies! :)

Wow! Thank you for this information! I really appreciate your effort @steppybay! I was planning on endorsing my license to CA after I get it but sadly, I failed the NCLEXRN on my first attempt the other day. I don't know what went wrong because all along I thought I was doing good. I graduated from the PI but read the Saunders book cover to cover, answered 1/4 of LaCharity and read a lot of strategies but still I didn't make it. I will definitely read the threads that you suggested so I can have more idea on that concurrency issue. Thank you so much!

You should still try and apply anyways, you never know and just know the application fees are non-refundable, even if they decline the application.

But if you already know that your theory and clinical in the baby delivery cases were NOT done in the same semester months, then your transcripts will be found to not comply with the concurrency rules.

This has been the case from those graduating in the years 2004/5 to 2014 of not able to pass the concurrency regulations and affects about 99% of all PH applicants.
