I think it depends on the job market there. Also it might depend on if you're willing to take what you get, rather wanting a specialty. Many internships, such as OR or L&D require starting at a specific date, so y ou might miss out there.Good luck.
I just want to work plain old med/surg before I go for my DNP. I hope that makes it easier to find a job.
Many nurses graduate in December. Facilities often hire new grads both then and in the summer. ALso...each facility is different. The facility I work for...prefers NOT to hire alot of new nurses at once...they say it's too much strain on the staff. You might get a better orientation if there aren't many new grads around.

Yes, yes, yes. My genius NM hired nine new people within two months. We had nurses precepting who were neither particularly willing nor particularly qualified, and it caused some BIG problems. Like orientations having to be done over from the start with a new preceptor kinds of problems. I know at my hospital they hire new grads 10 months of the year. The other 2 are for internal hires only. So you should be okay.

I just found out that I will be graduating late
I switched majors so I'm behind all the nursing students and therefore won't be able to graduate until after summer semester. I'm wondering how hard this is going to make it for me to get a job. I really need to start working right away and I know that hospitals usually hire new grads at the same time. Does this mean I'm completely screwed?
