how can i get RN license in NJ

hi all,

i am RN from India.and i have my green card and ssn from NJ,USA.i want some information about to get start my job as nurse here. so can anybody give me guides to get license?do i have to give cgfns? or not? can anybody give me any website so i can find the step by step procedure?

You need to meet requirements for NJ as a foreign trained nurse and will be approx 4-6 months before you will be allowed to sit NCLEX ,pass and work as a RN. Looks like you also need a English exam if not already. Here is a link to the foreign trained nurse application

Moved to the International forum as things are different for foreign trained nurse plus in wrong forum

NJ requires the CES report which is credentials eval done by CGFNS and also the English exams be passed before they will give you permission to sit for the NCLEX exam.

Even with the green card, you still will need to meet the requirements for the foreign nurse. Immigration and licensure are two very different things.
