Can you get an "accelerated" BSN from any school w/ a nursing program?

I have a question about an alternative to all of these 2nd degree programs... Would it work to enroll at a school with just a 4 year program, but then only take the 2 years of upper division (clinicals) & classes?

Probably not but it's really up to each school.

well - many of the schools would rather that people apply to the accelerated programs and have limited the number of 2nd degree transfers - which use to be the main method - as they get the same amount of money a year but get more classes in and out. As someone that would be more than happy to take the 2 years and do it and does not care about the extra 3-6 months that it would be i totally understand what you are asking....

You can do anything that the school allows you to do. We had advanced placement students enter our program at the points they needed to complete the program. All of this can be discussed with the nursing school advisors at the various programs where you have an interest.

I think it depends on the school.

I'm doing that for one of the programs I'm applying to - TWU. They don't offer the traditional accelerated program at the Houston location, so what I'm doing is applying to their nursing program as a 'Transfer Student'. I'll just be taking the two-year upper division nursing courses if I get in, which is the last half of their program. The first two years of their nursing program will be counted from my prerequisites that transfer over.
