Can you get a MSN in less than 2 years online?

I am a RN currently obtaining my BSN. I made a mistake my first year of college and took general studies even though I knew I wanted to be a nurse. I was told how difficult the heavy course load would be and decided to get my ADN in 3 years. Well, hindsight is 20/20 and I regret that decision. When I finish my BSN, I will have been in college for 5 years. My question is...

Is there any way for me to get an MSN (preferably FNP) online full-time in less than 2 years?

Thank you for any and all input.:nurse:

I am looking for the same type of program in regards to a time frame. The only program I know of is Vanderbilt if you are willing to shell out twice the money of another program. Sorry, but saving a half a year is not worth an additional 40k in my book.

Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX has a FNP program that is all online and is reasonable- about $2000 per semester and half that in the summer. It's 6 or 7 semesters long (including summers).

Specializes in ER, ICU.

I'm going to Excelsior, it's cheap and I really like the program. It is self paced so if you can load up as many classes as you want. You could probably knock it off in 2 years if you really cranked it out. I will finish in around 2.5 years. The capstone course is only offered a few times a year so it depends on when you start to when you can take it. Hope that helps.

Specializes in MOHS surgery.

i think you can get your masters through excelsior but not FNP. i called and spoke with one of the advisors about that the other day. that is my ultimate goal.

Specializes in US Army.
Specializes in med/surg- sub-acute, LTC,ICU,.

Grand Canyon University , about two years.
