Can anyone tell me about the nova nursing schedule?

Published

Hello,

I am currently doing the prereq's and hoping to apply for fall 2010. But I am nervous due to the fact that I have 2 small kids and day care is not an option for my family.

I kind look through the classes for the 1st sem in fall 2009 and the hours are not the best. So do you guys think I can manage to be at school only 1 day out of the week(monday through friday) and do clinicals only on saturdays? This would be for the entire nursing program.

How do you guys do it?

Thanks

We didn't have any labs on Mondays (lecture day), and that is exactly what I would have wanted!

Thanks for all of you guys answers!

Can anyone tell me what the hours are like in the traditional program (27 months)? I am starting now in August and want to have an idea how many days a week I will be going to school and for how long. Can anyone let me know what their schedule was like. Thank you!

On the other threat someone said that we could take some classes over the summer with the traditional program....Can somebody clarifies on that? Thanks

Sometimes (not always) they offer Nur 255 or Nur 254 over the summer. Highly suggest you take it if one or both offered. In my opinion, very easy classes. Not quite "medical terminology" easy, but close enough!!

That's good maybe like that the load will be less heavy...

I sure hope so, but kind of doubt it. Our student handbook said that we couldn't take 255 before the third semester and 254 before the 4th semester.

Things always change, lol I took Nur 254- in the summer between semester 3 and 4. then took Nu5 254 in 3rd semester, or vice versa.

I have an update to make. Our lecture is not from 1-6:30 on Mondays. We have to listen to our prerecorded lecture online on our own time before class on Mondays and then on Monday we have what is called "Lecture II" from 1-4. It isn't actually lecture and is simply a discussion/question/answer time.

That's sound good thanks for updating:)

You're very welcome. I am an idiot though and I have another correction to make. Our discussion on Mondays is actually from 1-3. I am not sure if anyone really cares or if it makes a difference but I know before I started the program I was always looking for all the possible information I could possibly gather :D
