Does anyone else's hospital call and not leave a message? This happens all the time at this hospital. Just a handful of people actually leave messages. If it's staffing, then staffing should say it "It's X from Staffing. Please call back." 20 seconds. Or if it's from security, then they should leave a message.
I have a missed call from the hospital's number and unfortunately, I have zero idea who would have wanted to talk to me. Well, I have a few ideas but without confirmation I am not calling them back because I don't want to talk to them.

It shouldn't be a issue that causes angst. You are not actually obligated to answer the phone when anyone calls. You are not obligated to respond to messages. If it's important, they'll figure out how to contact you.
One of the best ideas I have ever heard.... use your cell number for work contact --> set employer's ring tone to 'silence'. LOL.

It may not actually be the hospital that called you. It may be one of your friends from work sitting at the nursing station and thinking "I wonder if applesxoranges wants to go to lunch with me Friday," and having to hang up due to a patient issue. Or it may be someone from your unit wanting to trade shifts . . . and unwilling to leave a message at that particular moment because she'll see you in three hours when you come in to work.
Eh, most people know to text my cell or send a Facebook message instead of calling me. I'm known for not answering my phone.
