Calling the BON

Published

Does anyone know WHY the BON can't tell you if you passed or failed the NCLEX over the phone?

Also is it true that they do tell the employer if they call and ask?

I did call and got through and asked the lady " Is there a VALID LICENSE issued in the name of so and so?" Then next thing she asked me was for my social security number and then she paused and said who am I speaking to? I told her who I was and then she said we can't give results over the phone.

Now I am wondering if it had been my employer would they have told them?

MY friend also said that ususally if you pass they give some kind of hint BUT if you fail they won't say anything.

To think she knew right there if I passed or failed- how cruel is that???

If i failed then just tell me so I can move on and start studying again.

This waiting is awful! Unfortunatley California is being super slow in telling you your results also.

Lefthander, Have You Heard Anything Yet?

Nope I have NOT gotten anything in the mail yet OR seen my name on the website! IT's been awful not knowing and then having to orient on my new job.

Oh well :o

You can go to www.rn.ca.gov for the California Board of Registered Nursing to check if you passed. I took the NCLEX RN Exams last Oct. 11, 2004, my computer did stop, not at the expected 75-80 answered questions, but it did stop after answering all the 265 questions. I checked on their website this morning Oct. 14, 2004, and I was surprised. After clicking on the License Verification at their website and filled in my Last Name and First Name and Pressed FIND. My name is already posted on the License Verification. I have a license number already as RN in California. Important thing to remember though, I have a Social Security Number when I submitted my application.

So if anybody out there has taken the NCLEX and answered up to 265 questions , dont feel sad and hopeless. :) :) :) :) You could be smiling after 3 days of waiting. Goodluck.

I am glad to hear you passed after answering all the questions. Same thing happened to me (took the 265 questions) but i have yet to get ANYTHING in the mail and my name is not up on their website. I did hand in ALL the paperwork they need including my social security number. I took my exam September 27th and it's taking forever. I am now 100% sure I failed but this waiting to get the paper telling me I failed is killing me because I am READY to move on and reapply.

Though I am only in my first semester of Nursing, I have been checking here "waiting" with you. Please let us know when you hear something. I am sending you some cyber-strength. Hang in there.

I guess I feel a kind of affinity with you because I am left handed and graduated HIGH SCHOOL in 1975. =)

Now I know I definately failed :o I took my exams on October 13, 2004 and I still haven't seen my name on California BRN website. I really wish they would just let me know for sure and I could also start studying. Congratualations to all those who have passed! God bless
