Calling the BON

One reason our BON does not tell over the phone is to prevent thousands of phone calls every day. Also, there is more to getting a license than passing a test: fingerprints, background checks, transcripts, fees paid, etc. They probably are afraid to tell you "yes" when "no" is correct due to something other than the test for fear you would sue if you got wrong info (or what you perceive as wrong). I don't understand why the test administrators can't give you a response about the test only. Our grads are able to find out within 24 hours by calling a number provided by the test administrator. This does not mean they are getting a license (due to the above factors) but at least they know they cleared one hurdle. It is agony to wait, I know.

Well when I called it bothered me that she knew my results and was on the verge of telling me.

When I called I did not ask if they have my results. I asked if there was a valid licence under the name of.......... and then when she asked for my ssn-she paused and asked who she was speaking too.

So I am assuming that 1)if it had been an employer calling she would of told them if there was a license or 2) I failed and this is why she paused because if I had passed then she would of given me my license number.

I have to start new grad orientation next Tuesday and if I failed I wanted to know prior to starting. This would just be awful to have to find out in the middle of training that I failed.

Just tell me already!

I am also waiting anxiously for my result. I am curious when did you take the NCLEX? I took it on September 22. Too bad we do not have the option to pay for the result in 48 hours!

I took it Monday the 27th and I know it's probally too soon to get any results BUT I hear that your results are pretty much in as soon as that computer shuts off.

Some of my friends had their results like the day after or by the 3rd day.

Anyways make sure that they have all your transcripst and that your fingerprints have cleared because this can also delay you getting your license.

All of my stuff is fine so now I just have to wait

What is the number to call for checking to see if all of my papers are in? I called a number on the website and when it was connecting me to speak to an operator, but it didn't connect properly. Thank you.

did you try the nclex quick results website? if you signed up for nclex through pearsonvue- i can't remember if they handle the results for the whole country or not, but however you signed up for nclex should have provided you with the phone number or website address to get quick results for a fee. as far as i can remember, the bon does not give out results period. hope you find out soon and it's good news!

California, I believe is the only state that does not participate in the quick results. I wonder why? Or else I would of paid what ever they wanted to get my results quicker. So all we can do is wait for the BON to post the results when ever they feel like it.

The lady may not have wanted to give out any information since I tried in my state (FL) and the lady said that they had caller id and were aware that I was not calling from a facility. So I had to wait. Can you check on a website that as in the california board of nursing. Something like that.
