Calling All Fall 2012 Daley College Nursing Students

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hello everyone it seems like Truman has many helpful threads and Daley has none. I thought I would create this one so everyone who received acceptance for Fall 2012 can communicate with one another. Post here anything that you've heard in regards to Daley's Nursing Program. For example I'm wondering where clinicals will be, if you know plz share. BTW Congratulations to everyone!!!

I just forwarded you the email.

thank you jshelby

Has anyone gotten the titers done for the mumps, chicken pox, and the hep B that they are asking for. I thought if we had the vaccines done we should be fine but I called and ms. Fitzsimmons said we need the blood work done to show we are immune. This stinks I'm stressing out and haven't even started yet.

I haven't gotten my titers done yet or anything! but I plan on doing them next week. Anyway, yeah, I think even though you might have gotten vaccinations for them, they want you to do the titers to show that you actually have immunity...and maybe just to waste money :( Don't stress out, we have time but not plenty, so it would be best for you to start getting this stuff done ASAP! because I think the titers only take 48 - 72 hrs (maybe less) and if you haven't gotten your CPR certificate, you can just take the class which is 2 1/2 hrs and get your certificate immediately. You'll feel a lot better if you got them done and get it over with.

Thanx jeskarwr and yes I already have my BLS certification because of work and it doesn't expire until 2014. Also another thing she mentioned was she recommended we get the background check done again because if it expires before our first semester is over then we might run Into trouble. But it all depends when we submitted our background check form. Thank you again for the reply.

Hi, I'm new in here. Exited to meet new friend in Daley!^__^

I live nearby Truman College and I wont' change my address but I might need a car to go there which I hope not.:(

I check for the bus, it takes 1 and a half hr to get there. Anyone has any good suggestion for me?

Thank in advance!

Hello All! I'm new to this site and I just happned to come across this thread or board! First off I want to say congrats to all that have been accepted in Daley's program. I was accepted as well and I hope to see you guys in the fall. I am in the process of getting all of the footwork done as far as titers and drug testing and what not...I would like to here everyones opinions and progress, as this site has helped me before...again congrats!

Hi again! I wonder if anyone lives in north area and have a car and want to share a ride. I would love to pay as much I can because I feel like I don't want to find a parking near my apartment and buy a new car to get to school.

Thanks! :)

Hey Mu2012,

What intersection do you live?

Hi jeskarwr ,

Has anyone gotten all their medical and drug test done yet? If so, where did you go and how much did it cost? I plan on doing mine at Mercyworks, but I just found out that their currently not testing for the drug Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is required for our 10 panel drug screen, because it's a very expensive drug. The lady at Mercyworks on N. Cumberland (Nancy) told me that they're working it out with the City Colleges, and they should have an answer by tomorrow, whether they are going to continue to test for it and if the cost will increase or whether they're not going to test for it at all. It looks like it's a temporary issue with the drug test because of this drug, but hopefully they get it resolve because I need to get it done. Anyway, let me know if anyone else has gotten this same information and if they've gotten theirs done (where and how much). Thanks!
