I was just admitted into CSU San Bernardino's Winter 2012 nursing program. I have never been there and would like to know about the campus, the social life/networking and surrounding areas.
I am a 23 year old female and will be far from home (7 hours). I want to go to a school where I feel it is a comfortable learning environment. I've heard and read reviews that the school itself is beautiful, but the surrounding areas and streets are "bad areas".
Does anyone know what the stats are for nursing grads that actually gets jobs right out of the program? Does CSUSB have connections with hospitals where you have a better chance of getting a job out of the program? Are there any clubs for nursing students?
Where are there nice places to live for a first-year transfer student, on campus or off?
My last question is: am I better off going applying for a JC program (one that I already know has hospital connections and 100% NCLEX pass rates) than go to CSUSB and spend more money going there?
Sorry about all of the questions. I just really want the best education offered to me and to be as comfortable as possible while I am going to nursing school. Thank you for your time!
Bridal1987---I'm applying with hopefully a 3.2 or 3.3 GPA with all the pre-req grades put together. I have Straight B's in my sciences :/ My GE pre-reqs I have A's and B's. I'm about to retake my TEAS test this December and January. I'm just really hoping that my grades will be good enough with a high TEAS score to get into San Bernardino State. That is my first choice of school and my 2nd choice is CSU Channel Islands. Let me know what you think!

I am looking at different nursing programs and am curious if anyone has had any experience with the BSN program at CSUSB? How is the admissions process? What about the program itself? Is your schedule pre-determined or do you have the freedom of setting your schedule? I appreciate whatever information you have!!!
