California State University, Sacramento (Sac State) BSN Program - Spring 2026

Published

Hello everyone! I tried looking for a thread on the Spring 2026 application cycle and couldn't find one so I decided to make one. Feel free to share your experience and share questions about the Sac State traditional nursing program for Spring 2026.

@jojol  have you applied for any of the other programs around the area?

yes I've applied to SCC and ARC, wbu?

@jojol I also applied to ARC recently, because the other ones don't have their openings until next semester.

hey there Morgan, I was able to apply for the first time with 79 points. So here is hoping to getting good news 😟

How many points did you apply with?

Great job! I had 74 🙂

@Morgan Mendoes any idea on how much tuition is alone for just the nursing classes for the program in total for the 2 years? or where I could find that information?

No I don't and was wondering the same! I'm finished with my pre and co reqs so just need nursing classes

@Morgan Mendoes I have been trying to research how graduates from CSUS and the local ADN programs compared in getting their first nursing job and how well their program helped them be prepared for the job or where it lacked in certain areas....

I heard an opinion from an RN that I know that the ADN program at ARC prepared her alot more due to more clinical practice with skills compared to CSUS and their focus on more research based with a bit less clinical skills practice. They said the CSUS new grads they had come work at their hospital locally had difficulties in basic fundamentals that they had to be brought up to par over 3 months ~ .  I even asked both schools for insight without mentioning names and heard nothing but great things, but I am wondering if they were most likely not going to let me know of the problems they might have seen.  My friend's experience could also have been isolated incidents as well, but I am wondering if you have family or friends with insight into this sort of thing?

Tomorrow is showtime and hoping for great news for us 🥳🥳

Good luck to everyone ❤️

Do you guys know of anyone who has recently been in the program? Or anyone currently attending Sac State that know of people?  My question is any tips or info they hear about the first semester.

And yes goodluck and hope to see more people in this forum after receiving their letters of acceptance after 5pm today.

Also any idea if a laptop would be mandatory for this program or is a desktop plenty enough?

Just got my email - currently the 17th alternate so im optimistic. Im just glad to have finally heard something back!! Congrats to those who got in automatically, and good luck to everyone else on the alternate list!

Hi! Used to volunteer at Kaiser Permanente and had a LOT of volunteers who were undergoing the program. All I remember is them talking about how hard it was to adjust to the first semester - lots of heavy work, so they said :3 As for laptop, I think its always more convenient to have a portable digital notetaker you can bring along, but I've never thought to ask
