Hi everyone,
I wanted to start this thread for the CSUN ABSN program for Spring 2024. I have a 3.8 in my science prereqs. I do not have any volunteer experience, but I will be getting my CNA and BLS certification this month. Application opens on June 6th and closes on August 1st (or earlier due to volume)! Let's connect here & good luck to everyone!

Honestly, I don't know. I'm an alumna at CSUN and I still have an unpaid student loan of 20k. I want to get in to the ABSN because it's a faster route than doing ADN-BSN. ABSN tuition is $45k or more but if I do the ADN-BSN collaborative program it's around $20k or less; ADN alone at community college are only $10k or less but it's competitive due to their point based system and lottery system... but it would be nice to graduate with ABSN in 15 months just expensive... but a cheaper program is also great
regardless of ABSN or ADN we're all going to take the same exam, it's just the title and privilege you get when you have a higher degree. But I have heard from others that the type of degree don't matter anymore after COVID because a lot of nurses are retiring due to exhaustion during the pandemic...
So yeah... I don't know ????
Hi everyone!
I applied for the Spring 2024 program the first week the application opened. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology back in 2021 from Arizona State. I had a 3.9 GPA along with 3.8 science GPA. I have volunteer experience which included volunteering at Phoenix Children's Hospital for a year and doing a mission trip to Africa my sophomore year of college. I have my CNA license but I have actually been working as a medical assistant in a dermatology office for a year which includes doing prior authorizations for medications, assisting in surgeries, and helping with cosmetic procedures.
I still have not heard anything back from CSUN and I check all my emails and the portal every day. I am hoping to hear back soon. For anyone is the same boat as me and have not heard anything, do not be discourage. Everything happens for a reason!
Hi everyone,
I hope everyone luck! I have been accepted to Regis University ABSN. The waiting game with this school is by far the longest. I'm still gonna have some hope that CSUN ABSN will respond back to me with either an acceptance or rejection. My stats are not really impressive but for anyone who are feeling down, please don't be.
csuf psychology ba - 2.9 GPA
Peralta community science prerequisite GPA - 3.5 GPA
1 class in progress.
no volunteer experience (not sure if that is an important factor)
worked as a medical assistant in a nephrology office
Worked as a surgical tech, back office of ma for Endosurgery.
I guess a personal statement can stand out more than school performance.
