Hope we can all encourage one another and cheer each other on! We can do it!

I am planning to apply next cycle and wanted to see if anyone was in a similar situation this cycle. I recently decided to switch careers so I am currently at community college finishing up some of the prereqs. I have the metrics, but sadly not much healthcare experience (besides scribing). Do I still have a shot? :^( Thanks for the help!
hi! honestly I feel like the healthcare experience isn't the most important thing to them... bc I got my CNA certification in december and just got a CNA job at a nursing facility and literally stayed there for a month after I applied haha ? I think they really value your story and why you want to be a part of the cohort. I got the feeling they valued my personality and my motivation to go into nursing more than my experience. I also know my GPA, TEAS, letters of rec helped me a bunch too! so I wouldn't stress out too much over experience just get your CNA cert and a job and you should be good!
For those of you on the waitlist, those of us that have been accepted have until May 1st to formally accept the university's offer. For those that don't accept the university's offer by May 1st , they will be dropped from the program, and I am assuming the next person on the waitlist will be offered admission into the program. So far out of 30 of us, only 12 have formally accepted. This is all according to the instructions and the registration page for us.
sending you all good vibes and peace during your wait, and hoping for the best for you!
Congrats! What school did you get accepted too!?
I was recently admitted off the waitlist! The fact that they interviewed 60 candidates and only 12 have formally accepted leads me to believe there is a reasonable chance you could receive an offer. Knowing your position on the waitlist might be helpful in your decision-making process. Getting into any program is a huge accomplishment, so congratulations on your admittance to the other school, and good luck with the CSULA waitlist. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Congratulations to you!! That is great news. I was not given my position on the waitlist, so I have no idea what it is. Was this given to you prior or did you ask?
Again, congratulations and thank you for the good vibes ? !

UC Irvine and University of San Diego's MEPN program. I was really trying to finish quicker with an ABSN, but sometimes we just have to be grateful. Still holding a little hope for this waitlist haha! Thank you for the information, I hope they can make up their mind sooner rather than later for us waitlisters - though I know from experience it is a huge commitment to just accept or decline without first weighing the pros and cons. Best of luck to you in the CSULA program!! Honestly happy for you.
FantasticNursetastic said:Thank you so much! I never received my waitlist position, but in previous years' threads (and possibly this one), people mentioned requesting it from the program advisor. It is worth a try, and showing sustained interest in the program certainly won't cause you any harm.
