California RN Endorsement (Grad from ABSN)

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey guys,

I searched through the forums and couldn't find an exact answer for my question.

I'm trying to endorse from another state to CA, I graduated from an accelerated second degree program. My state is enrolled in the Nursys verification site.

My question is, do I need to submit transcripts from all the schools I took pre-reqs for the program as well? On the application it just says a transcript from the nursing school that I received my degree from (no mention of needing any other transcripts). I know from reading other threads people have had issues with pre-reqs when trying to endorse.

I'm sure other people have endorsed in a similar situation and wanted to see what you had to do.

Thanks!

I applied for endorsement after I finished an accelerated program in IL... Since it was a second degree I had to pick up pre requisites. Just to be safe and to make sure the process went as fast as possible, I had transcripts from ALL of my schools sent to the BON in California. After sending in all of the appropriate paperwork I applied for endorsement online where I could check on the progress of my endorsement. I applied for a temporary license but never saw it because California didn't take very long. I'd save yourself the $$ and forgo applying for a temporary license unless you absolutely need to.

Let me know if you have any questions!

It took one month with the live scan.... so I'm not sure with the card. I applied for a temp license but got my perm one first :/ so I wouldn't bother with the temp license.

Hi everyone. I am in a similar position. Graduating from an ABSN program in December and moving to CA shortly thereafter. I am torn between applying by licensure (CA-NCLEX) or endorsement (getting my Minnesota license first). It sounds like most of you went the endorsement route. Do you think it worked out better?

Thanks
