Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. :banghead: Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.

Thanks

danni314: Here are the requirements... I think prettypink already posted them for you several posts ago... but here they are again:

* Actual current CPR/AED card and copy of front and back of card

* For LVNs and RNs ONLY, actual current LVN or RN license and copy of front and back of license

* Actual Declaration of page and copy (Proof of malpractice insurance)

* Proof of Health insurance coverage. Copy of front and back of insurance card.

* Original National University Immunization and Physical Examination form; signed and completed by your healthcare provider. No copies or reproductions will be accepted.

* Signed HIPPA completion form

* Photo Identification will be required to obtain student ID.

thanks so much. yes i had the shots and they did do bloodwork on me because at my first appointment they didnt have my immunization card, the second one they did haha. ok so it sounds like i am good.

For health assessment, you are learning how to do a physical assessment. Do not bother with loop of henle... concentrate on cranial nerve testing how to test the cranial nerves. concentrate on normals such as what do normal eyes look like pupils, pupil reflex. noraml skin and abnormal skin conditions... all stuff you can see when you first see a patient head to toe assessment

Thanks h0n3ybee! One more question: did you find that the 4 uniform items (that NU provides for you at the orientation) + the cardigan = is enough for the entire program? Or did you find that you needed to order more? Just curious, cause they are pretty pricey...:uhoh21: Thanks again! :thankya:

Wow I don't check this thing for 2 days and what do you know there's a million posts! :D Welcome back Danni, hope moving went well! I forwarded you that orientation information e-mail JUST so you have it! (Even though Diana posted the info on here:up:).

So I put everything together for orientation but I still feel like I'm missing something, or something's not going to be right....so nerve racking!!!

Can't believe it's on FRIDAY!!!:hpygrp:

Welcome back Ashely! :) I am counting the days to the orientation... :smokin::lol2:

I am counting down too, and surprisingly, im NERVOUS!! haha. also afraid something missing or going wrong :uhoh3: But more than nervous I am extremely excited to be finally starting nursing school, and only a 22 month countdown to my career! :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Ok. My friends and future classmates,:icon_roll I just checked out http://www.doveapparel.com for the uniforms, and I must say they look like uniforms of cleaning people :rolleyes:at hotels.... maybe cause their white. I know ours will be sailor blue... Can't decide which one I would prefer. Also, I wonder what color tennis shoes we can wear? Do they have to be white? Or any color? Does anyone know?

"cleaning people"..:lol2: I meant to say "maids".:imbar I had a brain fart.:brnfrt:

Haha so Danielle, just got your e-mail back. We should definitely figure out a way to meet each other at orientation!! I'm guessing there will be like 50 people in our cohort..

LOL Diana!! All the National Nursing students that come in my work have white shoes, so I'm assuming they must be white! I was checking out www.doveapparel.com as well and I am torn between a couple styles. Which ones are you going with???

well. it's hard to see what a zip top would look like on me, cause the model is plus size and i am only 106 lbs and 5 ft tall, so Womens' scrub top and TLC look ok i guess... I have to see them in real life to decide. By the way, how will we meet? Should we all have like a flower in our hands?? Or hold a sign? Hahaha :lol_hittijust kidding... but really how?
