DEMSN at Sonoma State..what's it like?

I'm a pre-nursing student doing well at Santa Rosa JC and I'm considering the direct entry MSN program at SSU. I've heard it's REALLY demanding, like 60-80 hours a week. Is that true? What's it like?

I read your post. Are you in the SRJC ADN program?? How are you liking it? Do you already have your Bachelors in a different field? I applied for Fall2010 to SRJC and I'm hoping to get in. Yay, some locals! I too am from SR and go to SRJC!

ThaliaD: For the DEMSN, I am pretty positive you need to have a bachelors degree to be eligible, but I'm sure you know that (I just didn't see that mentioned in your post). I dont know much about the program, but I would say go for it! Im sure every DEMSN program is going to be pretty intense, but if you know nursing is what you want, go for the master's! Also, SSU, from what Ive heard, has great nursing programs.

Saral_123: I too applied to SRJC's ADN program for Fall 2010. I've heard GREAT things about the program. I have never heard a negative thing about it. SRJC is an amazing school with a great reputation.

I'm not sure how the program is like for students, but I want to apply because it seems like it's something I'd be interested in. I got my bachelor's degree in health sciences (basically molecular bio plus some health care) at UCSC. Does anyone know if it is really difficult to get in?
