U.S.A. California

I am in the midst of getting my application ready. Hoping that I can wow the committee with my letter, as my GPA is not as competitive as I would like.

Anyone else planning on applying for Fall?

adonisvil- Thank you for your comments! ... So, you've already applied twice??? this is your third? WOW... yes, i wonder what the difference was??? I heard the essay weighs pretty heavy... Good luck to you during this application process...!

Today is the deadline!!! :)))

Waiting waiting waiting...

Just hand delivered my application! REALLY hoping I am invited to an interview!

Quiting is not my option. I was interviewed on my first, but not lucky enough. Maybe because of a stronger batch or maybe i answered something wrong during the interview. On my second, I wasnt invited for the interview. I basically submitted the same LOI, everything was copy-pasted. I dont have time to prepare because i went out of the country during application period due to family emergency. I will just reapply patiently until they will accept me. I know I deserve to be in this school because i have a competitive GPA and significant experience in the medical field. I honestly have weaker prereqs average, but i hope they will consider my letter of explanation that i work double and some family responsibility when i took my subjects. Good luck to you also JP808. . .

Dearadonisvil,

I commend you for re-applying for the programs. Like you and perhaps many others I did not do very well in my first bachelors and was led to the direction of nursing later in life. I hope that you do get in so that it gives me hope as well.

So far I have applied to CSUN, CSUF, MSMC & CUI. I have been rejected by the 1st 3 and am hoping I have a chance in hell with CUI. I will continue to reapply to different programs as this was the first round of apps I have ever done. Good luck to everyone who is applying!

Hey guys I was wondering if Concordia cashed your check for application fee for the Fall 2012 application. Because I applied last semester Feb. 1, 2012 and they didn't cash my check 2 months after and I got my rejection letter around the same time. I was just curious if they cashed your check early if it means anything or you're a potential candidate. I was wondering because of my last application.

I just checked my account and it looks like they've cashed my check as well. I would imagine that the check would be cashed regardless of whether or not we are a potential candidate. However - if it does mean something else I would hold on to that hope myself. :)

They cashed my check. I hope it is a step closer to getting in the program. However, I think they cashed the check regardless of your application status--its part of the service fee. I'm not really sure why your check was not cashed on your last application. Did you apply for the Fall 2012 term?

Yes, they have cashed my check. When I first read your comment, I admit, I got really excited!

hkitty, do they indicate why you were not accepted to the program? I'm just wondering if they give any sort of explanation so you know if it is worth applying a second time.

Good luck, KeepOnTrucking! I was led to nursing later in life as well. I didn't have a great GPA and am crossing my fingers that my Statement of Intent will be my ticket to the interview.

to beesmama- i spoke to ------------- the director for the ABSN program and she did tell me I met all the requirements but it came down to the GPA. Other students had a higher GPA than I did and probably my statement of intent wasn't strong enough that it didn't stand out regardless of my GPA. But she did say to revise my essay make it stronger and state that why I'm reapplying for the second time. So I guess everyone got their check cashed, so I'm not sure if it indicates anything, I hope it does.

Good luck to everyone who applied!

I wish I had seen this sooner and could have maybe given some useful advise! I am in the summer 2012 cohort at CUI and it's very exciting!!

I think the essay and letters of rec are very important. I applied with a good friend who was right there with me in grades (and smarts) and works as an RT so has lots of med experience but he didn't even get the interview so I think letters and essays are important.

Also, when I applied, they wanted 2 LOR so I asked 4 people and I think at least 3 ended up sending in letters. They said they would accept more than 2 so I can imagine that it helped that I had 3.

Oh, and I volunteer for cope as a cce which I'm pretty positive helped me. As much as I don't want to recommend that volunteer program (because of the management not the actual program), when I was interviewing they said they knew cope specifically and then they said while nodding "good program"... So if you have some time and don't mind biting your tongue while dealing with the management I would recommend it.

If you guys get an interview and/or have any questions let me know!
