I am in the midst of getting my application ready. Hoping that I can wow the committee with my letter, as my GPA is not as competitive as I would like.

Anyone else planning on applying for Fall?

I was accepted!!! Good luck to everyone!!!!

klp i'm pretty sure you were in my interview group! i wonder who else from our group will be accepted.. exciting times for sure!

Clw22 I think you're right! Congrats to you! Casper89: I cannot pm, but I received mine this morning and I live in LA county so I expect that if you live further it may take longer! Good luck!

Do you think making a Facebook group of accepted students would be a great way for us to stay in contact?

totally! let's do it

Search Concordia University Irvine ABSN Fall 2012 for the group on Facebook if you are accepted and interested!

Hey All,

Congrats to those who got in! Looking forward to meeting everyone! Thanks klp123 for starting a facebook page. I unfortunately can't find it in my search, I just see pages from other cohorts...maybe I'm missing something? You have a url by chance?

Thanks!

Mandy

congrats mandy!

Perfect thanks!!

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted!! Question to those that have completed or been accepted to the program- what kind of health care experience did you have before applying? I will start volunteering this month and take a CNA course this fall, but wondering if there is anything else I should/can be doing...besides of course the pre-req classes :) Thanks for your help!

hey SG12- I was just accepted and honestly i hardly had any formal health care experience. during the interview, they asked us about what kind of experience we had and i (as well as some of the other girls interviewing) talked a lot about informal health care experience, like taking care of a family member who spent a lot of time in hospitals, etc. I think they just want to see that you have leadership experience more than anything and that you're willing to take initiative. So, while formal health care experience might be helpful, my advice would be to work hard in your classes so your GPA is impressive, make sure you have great recommendations, and get involved in anything that will show them that you take initiative and can be given a load of responsibility.

To my peers that are on the waiting list, don't loose faith. Today I got a call from Admissions to offer me admission to the program. Have faith! I am so excited!
