California nclex rn for IEN

Published

Hi i am an international BSN graduate, already working as an lvn here in california. I just submitted my application for the nclex rn. Yes i am pretty much aware of the concurrency issue. But i also heard of some IEN being eligible after applying from CaBon. I just want to start a thread for all those who are in the same situation as mine, so we can update each other with the process and additional documents that cabon will be asking from us. Thank u soooo much. Merry Christmas.

I am not sure what is my chance of getting approved by the cabon but my cases and theory were done at the same semester the subject was taken. I have heard for some who had concurrent theory and cases that even though the cases and theory were done at the same time cabon still denied their application...[emoji27]

Feels like a lottery doesnt it? Heard, read, seen about those too. its okay though. hang in there! Have thought aboit studying again just incase you receive the bad OR be licensed somewhere else?

Ok here's an update with my application. My school just mailed the addtl req the board was asking such as the cases. I also asked my school to send the schedule of clinical rotation along with it. Spending a lot of hard earned money for this application process. I need a miracle to just receive my eligibility...and no more asking for addtl docs...

Hi, I graduated from Cebu Doctor in April '15 and I live in CA. Everyone is telling me not to even bother applying in CA. I'm not sure what to do. I'm thinking of applying for CA and another state, maybe OR. I guess if I get licensed in OR I still need all the extra documents from my school if I ever want to license in CA. My husband has a good job here. I don't want him to quit just so I can work as an RN. Maybe if I wait long enough and the nurse shortage gets bad in CA they will stop blocking applicants.

Update:

i got my eligibility notice. :) its always case to case basis. So i suggest you should. Many of my classmates didnt bother either but if ur goal is california. Try. More people are eligible now. Maybe its the time or maybe just that the new nursing curriculum in the philippines is better. Coz my batch has a diff curriculum compared to past years. Just try! I had concurrent cases too. 5 each.

Wow congrats i am happy for you. U gave me hope

I have a feeling this time as long as your cases are concurrent. You are good to go. coz more people are getting approved. So prayers prayers! Stay positive :)

Did they also ask from u a copy of the clinical logbook and class schedule and reg forms? Thank u so much for updating and sharing your experience.

i didnt go through with nevada coz i got my eligibility. But i talked to my analyst i can simply endorse my texas license and no need to get transcripts again and other forms. Just fingerprint , verification of license and application form. And im good to go.

I applied to cali snd texas after graduation coz i thought i didnt have a chance in cali. I wanted to have a back up plan

so it was like this:

after graduation, applied for california and texas to take the exam. Texas onlytook 2-3 months and i got my ATT/eligibility then passed. California took 6 months for my eligibility but since i am an RN already i contacted my analyst and asked if its okay to endorse my license to california. Since the application process to take an exam vs endorsement are the same with regards to evaluating your education and transcripts as a foreign grad, i dont need to go thru that again. Plus my education is deemed eligible already. Just application form, fingerprint and verification of license.

i hope that makes sense. Hahaha i know i went through alot . I just wanted to be prepared coz of all the cali concurrency issues. hahah.
