California License Verification

Hi, can you help me how can I follow up the license verification? I applied last feb26'14 to California but I don't have my SSN, it's been 3 months now and still no approval has been received. I have sent a couple of messages since march to [email protected] via windows live but they are not replying.

They cannot verify a license that you were never issued. If you passed the NCLEX but no SSN you are simply an unlicensed NCLEX passer, no a licensed nurse in CA. They will neither issue nor verify a license until you provide a valid-for-work SSN.

If you applied for a license without a SSN then as per the application you will be automatically denied without refund.

Not all states have implemented the federal regulations yet. If you wish to live & work in TX then apply to TX BoN. Check their application/website to see if they will still license without a SSN.

If NJ BoN application requires a SSN, which you don't have, you are not eligible for a license in NJ or any other state that requires a SSN.

Even if you get a Texas RN license without a SSN, you will not find work unless the hospital sponsors you or something like that. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Just because you have a license does not make you eligible for a work visa. EB3 visa for most nurses is under retrogression with a wait from 5-15 years depending on country of birth.

Unless you are an experienced (5+ years paid) specialty nurse ( NICU, PICU, ICU, ED, PACU, OR, LDRP, etc) you won't qualify for a H1B specialty visa (most nurses are not qualified/approved for H1B)
