California endorsement to another state

Published

I am in a state of panic, as I was scheduled to start my out of state (CA) job last Monday and could not due to no CA endorsement and lack of new state license. I sent in my application for endorsement to CA the day of my interview, six weeks later...nothing. My benevolent employers have given me two more weeks to get my license together, but if it's not there, no job. I am a new-grad and this is truly my dream job, if I lost it I'd be devastated!

When I call the BRN they say that it went out yesterday via email, but my new state still hasn't received it. I've called an all they can do is tell me it already went out. I left a random manager a message, but no response yet. Any thoughts? How long did it take others to get endorsement? Thanks in advance!

Have you not heard about the BRN delay in CA?

Unfortunately, everyone having to renew, recert, or apply for examination is stuck in this delay.

If you go to the BRN's website, there's a letter for employers regarding this, which may help:

Thanks for your response and boy oh boy am I aware of the delay;). As an FYI luckily it went through this morning. For others who need a timeframe, it took 7 weeks and 3 days!!!

Yay! Glad it went through! I'm dealing with it as a new grad, and having a job lined up, I'm itching to get my test date!! 7.5 weeks isn't nearly as bad as it was, so that's very reassuring!

Good luck with the new job!

I believe that the endorsement process and initial licensing go through separate pathways, so I don't know that this timeline is accurate for new licensure. Lucky, lucky to have a job lined up as a new grad! Good for you!!!

I have no idea how the two correlate, only that everyone having to deal with the BRN has been affected by the delay. I'm sure there are different areas they both go through, but I'm also thinking that since there hasn't been a wave of grads in a few months, they may have made a dent in the stack of applications coming through, thus shortening the delay (fingers crossed!).

I am SO SO grateful to have something lined up! I know it's rare, so I am counting my lucky stars! I'm the first in my class with an offer, and I kept it pretty hush hush for awhile. I'm VERY excited!!
