California Education Requirments

Published

I am currently in nursing school, but not in California. It is time to pick clinical sites, and my school is telling us if we ever want to work in California we need to have a mental health clinical rotation because that is a law of California's licensing. I can't find any information about this on the CA board website. Does anyone have any experience with this being true or not? If you did have trouble getting an endorsement license because of this can you do anything about it to be able to get a license in CA still? Thanks for help!

That sounds plausible. California is known to be one of the tougher states when it comes to getting licensed.

Search for "California educational deficiency" on this site if you want to read about some first hand experiences. It seems like people have a lot of trouble finding schools willing to accommodate them by allowing them to take only one or two classes.
