Hello fellow nurses and nursing students! Please move thread if this is the wrong area, I have a question for nclex applicants for California who is taking the RN, what does it mean in the View Application Status it says pending and Open? Anyone know what this might be? Will my ATT come in soon?

It's been quite a while since I tested, however I believe I received an ATT letter from the BRN. They receive a list of graduates from your school and then the BRN matches that list up with received applications. Once they've matched your name, I believe they send you your BRN ATT letter. That ATT is also sent to Pearson Vue. You then go on to Pearson Vue's website, register, pay your $200, select your dates and at some point in the process they'll send you their ATT by email. After that, you begin your final studying and then stop that about 2 days before the exam. You might want to do maybe 25 questions the day before to keep your brain in test-taking mode (a little bit) but for all intents-and-purposes, your studying is done. Be there early so that you can go through all the procedures they require of you before you enter the exam room. Do NOT take anything in with you. Leave your cell phone and your watch locked in the car, out of view. They have a list of items that you'll need to bring with you to establish your identity... and bring NOTHING else and be prepared to secure everything in a locker they provide for you. You do NOT want to have your exam put on hold OR thrown out because YOU did something that's against the rules and they're very well known for following the rules.

I am assuming "OPEN" means it is being reviewed. I'm in California and the best way of getting an idea of when you will receive your ATT is by looking at the processing times on the BRN website. It will show what applications they are currently reviewing ( by date submitted) and how many weeks they are currently taking to process applications. I don't know if they are processing faster but I submitted mine mid December and I did not get my ATT until mid March. Also, it depends when your school sends all of their paperwork. The BRN can not give you an ATT without the school's part. Hope this helps.
