CALIFORNIA BON

Hi! I don’t know if this is the right thread. I have a question regarding my pending document from DCA CALIFORNIA BON for my Nclex eligibility. I was lucky I got a reply from them 1 month after I mailed my documents, however, it was a letter stating I am required to send them – ‘A COPY OF YOUR LICENSE FROM YOUR COUNTRY WHERE YOU COMPLETED YOUR INITIAL NURSING EDUACTION WITH ENGLISH TRANSLATION’. In my letter of explanation, I told them I didn’t have the license yet bec. I was still waiting for the results to come out. I will be having my hard license probably on September.

If I will submit a copy of my license, does that mean I need to send them an authenticated photocopy of my license or do you think a plain photocopy of the license and maybe a photocopy of the board certificate will suffice? Thanks for your help!

YAH. You're right piquant..they're making us more confuse!!!when I read Suzanne's message in Retrogression Limbo..she was mentioning that you don't need to resit for the exam just do the re-application w/c means the papers but not the exam...Now, Silverdragon102 is telling another thing w/c is to retake the exam....Well, guys..hopefully we're getting the correct answers to ourquerries. So..which is which now? retake or not? PLEASE!! For those who have gone through same ordeal...please contribute but just be cautious to give me and piquant the right answer. Thanks!!!

If you look at some of Suzanne's posts you will see that she changed to say that you will lose results. Think about it if your file is destroyed by Ca then why would they keep your NCLEX results. Pearsonvue do not keep copies only the BON/BRN do in your file. CA state that they will destroy your file in 3 years if you do not provide a SSN or ask for a extension.

Hello silverdragon..thanks for clearing things up. So, because i still have 3 years to expire my cali papers and nclex, then, i might as well apply now for licensure in either vermont or new mexico. I dont wanna wait..this is quite a hassle to me...i really dont want to retake the exam.

So, please correct me if i'm wrong with the process...1)apply for licensure on the state where i want to work. 2)request cali brn to forward my nclex result to the state where i want to transfer..is this right? Will i do this by just writing a plain letter address to cali brn or is there a form to be downloaded from where? Please help me!!!

Yes you need to apply for license by exam with another state, meet their requirements for foreign trained and complete form for CA and send it to them with fee

HI SILVERDRAGON,

SINCE I HAVE ALREADY DECIDED TO APPLY AT VERMONT AND YOU MENTIONED THAT I MUST USE THE LICENSE BY EXAM FORM...I HAVE FEW QUESTIONS TO ASK

1. WHAT ABOUT THE FORM THAT I SAW ON THEIR WEBSITE? "GRADUATES OF INT'L NRSG SCHOOL INT'L NURSE NCLEX PASS ENDORSEMENT APPLICATION", DON'T U THINK THIS IS THE FORM THAT WE HAVE TO FILL UP?

2. HOW DO I GO THROUGH WITH CES EVAL?..SINCE I NEVER DID THIS FOR CALI. WILL THEY FORWARD THE RESULT TO VERMONT OR TO ME?

3. I HAVE COME ACCROSS WITH THEIR APPLICATION... "THEY REQUIRE A COPY OF NCLEX PASS LETTER WITH PHOTO..BE SURE IT IS THE LETTER WITH THE PEARSONVUE PHOTO"..HOW CAN I PROVIDE A LETTER WITH PHOTO SINCE WHAT I HAVE RECEIVED IS ONLY A NOTIFICATION LETTER OF PASSING. WILL THE CALI BON PROVIDE THIS ONE UPON REQUEST?]

You do not have a license to endorse so can not use the endorsement forms. For CES you go to CGFNS website and follow instructions for CES. If you plan on continuing your nurse education once in the US I would recommend you get the full course by course CES and print the forms off and then complete them and send via snail mail, alternatively print them off and complete them before you complete online as any mistakes you make can not be changed once you have submitted the form unless you write to them regarding the mistake.

i went to the website of cali bon but i can not find this form. what i understand is that this form should be included in the packet of the state where we want to apply and send it to them plus the fee...really, please help me because there's no downloadable form of such in their website.

if you read the link it states this apply for licensure and request that they mail you the appropriate application packet. and that will/should include the form you have to complete

if you can't find something then i suggest you contact the ca brn regarding the issue. i don't understand how people can't seem to maneurver around the website. i know it's a pain to have to thumb through it, but you have to have patience. i know it's alot of shuffling, but instead of giving up, you should learn to do things on your own. silverdragon and the rest of the board can assist you in answering basic questions, but nobody is here to hold your hand and do everything for you. the ca brn and other websites are erally easy to thumb through, you just need a little bit of patience. good luck

Ah..ok. .' just thought allnursing.com is a website designed to help nurses find answers to their questions because not all our questions are answered in the brn website. Anyhow nursecubanita, i'll try my best to contact cali brn again regarding my issue..i'll just pray that i will be answered this time..wish me luck!!!

We are here to help people as much as we can but sometimes there are issues that can only be dealt with by the nursing board. Please continue to ask questions and we will try to help but it also helps if you check with the BON first or even try the search facility here on the site as many times the question has already been dealt with
